
WHAT IS NAYC?
The FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) is the premier equestrian competition in North America for children (12-14), pre-junior (14-16), junior (14-18), young riders (16-21), and U25 (16-25). This championship allows youth to compete against their peers in a format similar to that of the Olympic games and other international senior championships. Young equestrians compete for team and individual FEI medals in the Olympic equestrian disciplines of show jumping and dressage. The competition is run under rules of the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), the international governing body for equestrian sport, and is the only FEI championship held annually on this continent.
About the Gotham North/FEI North American Youth Jumping Championships presented by USHJA
The FEI Jumping North American Youth Championship for Children, Pre-Junior, Junior, and Young Rider categories provides an exciting opportunity for athletes in these age categories to compete against their peers in a Championship format similar to that of that of international senior Championships like the Olympic Games. Competition in each age category is held over the course of multiple days and features both a Team Competition, with Teams fielded by Zone, and an Individual Competition.
The categories are as follows:
- Children's Championship (NAChC): athletes FEI ages 12 - 14, fences up to 1.25m
- Pre-Junior Championship (NAPJC): athletes FEI ages 14-16, fences up to 1.30m
- Junior Championship (NAJC): athletes FEI ages, 14 - 18, fences up to 1.40m
- Young Rider Championship (NAYRC): athletes FEI ages 16 - 21, fences up to 1.50m

Region 4 Earns Gold in Young Rider Team Competition at 2025 NAYC
Traverse City, Mich. – The Young Rider teams took their turn down the centerline today in the Discover Dressage/FEI North American Youth Dressage Championship presented by USDF at the 2025 FEI North American Youth Championships. With talented combinations from across the continent representing their home regions, Region 4 emerged victorious in the FEI Young Rider Team Test, earning the gold medal with a combined score of 205.559. Region 3 secured the silver medal with a combined score of 199.795, while Region 6 claimed bronze on a score of 195.646.

Competition Set to Begin at the 2025 FEI North American Youth Championships
Traverse City, Mich. – Youth athletes from across North America have arrived in Traverse City, Michigan, for the 2025 edition of the FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC).
This year’s competition once again features the Discover Dressage/FEI North American Youth Dressage Championship presented by USDF and the Gotham North/FEI North American Youth Jumping Championship presented by USHJA. Hosted at the Flintfields Horse Park, the competition will run from Wednesday, July 30, through Sunday, August 3, 2025.
